| No one person is responsible for the rules. We have a 6 person rules committee. Ask your question here and it will get an answer. |

How does the commity come to a general concensis on a rule if it is asked on here? My point is what if one commity member says it's ok and I spend the money on the item but then it's not allowed ,I have wasted my money. I don't mind following the rules and I'm not thying to walk on the edge of the rules I would just like a DEFINATE answer so I don't waste money. Also WHO IS THE COMMITY?. I'm not certain who to take the OK from... Can you provide a list of the commity screen names so I know if I'm listening to the right person.
I'm in the process of building a Turbo SBC right now to hopefully compete by June this year. I don't have unlimited funds so making the right purchase the first time is absolutly necessary.
Any help in this grey area would be greatly appreciated. Terry Oliver |

Terry, I'm not sure what grey area you are referring to. The rules are in place and if it isn't in the rules, then anything you hear is just talk. read the rules, build your car around them and you will be okay. Beleive it or not, we have had people show up with a combo or something that was not legal for the class they wanted to enter and when asked if they read the rules, they would say, "Well so in so told me it was legal". Then we ask them again, did you read the rules, and then they say no, they really hadn't read thru them but was going off what so in so said. We have had to make changes in the rules over time, that's why it is necessary to read them every year. The committee menbers are : Cedric Ingram , screen name Cedric Benny Wilmeth, not sure Joe Torrez, not sure Casey Braswell, screen name purplepistoneater Brooks Lopez, screen name turbostang David Geer, screen name Unc When a rule is decided on it's a majority rule. We have meetings in person and also discuss rule and other organization issues over the phone. Cedric usually talks to each one of us before a decision is made on anything and we all have our in put. That's how it works. Maybe not the perfect system, but that's how it gets done. We all have real jobs and families to take care of so any time we spend on TTT5 issues is our time and we do it for the love of the sport and TTT5. Unc |

| FYI... I agree with you both. However, the Official Accepted Head List is not posted on this website. There is only a dead link. I don't agree with having specifications of any type posted on a link as it is like saying so-and-so said this-or-that. A link is not the Official Texas True Ten5 website. I would like to see all specifications "specified" on THIS website. |

http://brooksracecraft.com/MISC/true_street_heads.doc That is the official TTT5 accepted heads list, it is from Brooks Lopez aka Turbostang a moderator of this board. He is also a commitee member and the document is hosted from his site. Hope this helps. |

If you keep the rules on this site updated I don't think there would be so much confusion. P.S. Have you read your page this year? |

I do agree, the rules board does need to be updated and the head list does need to be posted on it with the addition of the drag radials and ladder bars, so that people who are building their cars have a solid answer to their questions? I'm just looking at it from the outside looking in. |

| The one for a Mustang and late model Camaro does not replace the front frame rails, if I'm not mistaken the Kim Smith one does. |

The Mustang and Camaro tubular K members (key phrase "K member") simply replaces the K member only, with stock suspension mounting points and STOCK motor location. I.e. a stock set of control arms could be used, stock struts could be used, stock spindles could be used, stock brakes could be used, stock springs could be used. etc...
The Smith kit offers none of that, that I am aware of. It replaces the ENTIRE front end with aftermarket pieces. None of which are Chevy II specific.
This topic has came up MANY times and for that answer.....all I can say is that the #1 record holder and MANY time winner is ROY SPENCER in a CHEVY II, that FITS the rules as stated. Why is again that you need the Smith front end? |
