I've been drag racing for several years in my daily driven vehicles. My current project was initally supposed to be a street car but has gone far beyond that. I've made some purchases over the last year that have not really fallen into what i'm needing now. I can't afford any more errors. so i come to you all for help and advice. Where have i gone wrong and where should i go from here? what class can i actually compete in. I'll give you a rundown of the car and my plans and we'll go from there. Any help is appreciated. Car has been down over a year and i feel the need to race but i don't wanna screw it up more than i have finacially. thanks guys in advance.

Already have:
1995 GT mustang
427Dart SBF
Trick Flow R heads cometic gaskets
Trick Flow R Box intake w/90mm accufab tb
Trick flow Stage 3 (yeah right) Hydr. roller cam with link bar Comp lifters
Forged crank and rods with Diamond custom pistons
Hellfire rings
MSD Crank Trigger, 7AL-3, Distributer (not the one i really needed)
Powerglide with brake
Aeromotive A1000 Fuel system with fuel cell
csr electric water pump
Kirkey pro seat

My plans:
Change to solid roller cam
Stock style suspension
UPR adj. U/L control arms, Ant roll bar, s. bushings,
K-member a-arms front coil overs
manual rack and brake conversion
Aerospace brakes F/R
8.8 with 9"ends and welded tubes with aftermarket gear cover
33 spline axles w/ spool
10 pt cage with through floor subframes and welded torque boxes
Big stuff 3 With data logger
Painless chassis wiring with switch panel (all factory wiring removed)
Skinny kid R.C. Fiberglass dash
88mm Turbo w/ A/W-intercooler.

well all i can think of for now. any help is appreciated. I ready to hit the track but i don't wanna rush things and blow hard earned cash for nothing again.

Well since you have an 88mm and an A/W you have to run Extreme street. It sounds like you have a pretty solid combo except for a few things. I would definatly get rid of the TFS cam, and that A1000 WILL NOT come close to the amount of fuel you are going to need. What size injectors are you going to use? That intake will work but I think a Spider type intake would be much better. You will have to put the stock dash back in also (thats pretty much any class now)

I still have the stock dash at the moment. Can you tell me what i can do to lighten it up it's a heavy BIATCH.

I was looking at 160 injectors
and as far as pump considering adding second a1000 or pro series pump.

and i agree with the cam gotta go. wanna buy it? lol

I would go with the 160s. On the dash take it out and take or cut everything off of it that dosent need to be there.

I've done several mustangs and from my experience the sound dampening material in the carpets, on the floor pan, under the dash, and in the side molding are worth alot of weight, the crash bars in the doors, front bumper. any thing that has a mount to the unibody comes off. mail wiring harness needs to go. all you need is lights and windows if there electric. The crash bars in the doors are 15 lbs or so eash. Little here little there ads up.

Fuel pump, Weldon, only option. used on the nmra forums all day long. My car is a 90 and with my 250lbs ass was 2950 with the same motor you have staging lane ready.

Hope this helps.

i have a ? about my cage. if i do go ahead with just the 10 point 8.50 cage but have the halo added is it possible to continue the upgrade to a 25.5 at a later date if i drop the car below 8.50 e.t.? kinda on a budget with stuff and can't spring for the cost of a 25.5 right now. but i need to have the TF subframes and chassis done so i can finish some other stuff.

Absolutely, if I'm not mistaken it's just adding the funny car cage around the driver and a couple of door and roof bars. And a few more gussets.
