ok the race at Ennis the 4th of july heres a link to it http://www.texasmotorplex.com/raceinfo1.php?race_id=37& it is being put on by the producers of Pinks they are also runnin Outlaw 10.5 and some grudge races, well they decided that the Drag Radial class which you guys can run is going to be 1/4 mile I think thats a mistake they should run 1/8 to get you guys to run but its not my race, they are payin 5K to win DR and 10K for outlaw so give me some feedback on who all would run 1/4 thanks |

"well they decided that the Drag Radial class which you guys can run is going to be 1/4 mile" If the DR rules are standing as they originally were, it would be hard to compete based on weight as most of our cars are heavy, foggers allowed, etc. If they are using TTT5 rules, then that's a little different. For 5k a gear change wouldn't be that big a deal IF the TS rules apply. I would still rather see 1/8 mile personally. Let us know, thanks. |

It wouldn't matter anyway, unless you can take 300-500 lbs out of your car, change the gears and add a lot of h.p. A TTT5 True Street car wouldn't stand a chance at that race. The cars that are going to go rounds there are going to run way down in the 8's with some in the high 7's. An Extreme nitrous car might have a chance. Somebody like Sheffield would have a good shot, but I don't know if they have run that car on radials before. The real problem is not only does it have to haul the mail and be on drag radials, they also have to be stock type suspension. |

I went to there site and this is all I found. Very, very vague:
Entry-level heads up class (pro qualifying ladder, 16 car field) allows unlimited power train modifications. The limiting factor for this class will be the requirement to run a specific Drag Radial type tire. All cars must use factory-style suspension combinations, and the rear frame rails of the vehicle must remain intact. This class will be full of seven-second cars, which will make for exciting races. Weight requirements will be made based on engine configuration and power adder type.
They don't even tell you what size tire nor do they tell what you have to weigh. Plus it's limited to stock suspension. Good luck to them, but I don't see many cars entering this race, especially cars from around here. |

Smallblock cars are at 2700 lbs with nitrous? yeah right, most of us run at 3200 plus pounds, my heap weights 3240. Plus the tire size is BIGGER, they are allowing a 325 radial tire to be ran! TIRES - All cars must compete on one of the following mass produced Drag Radial tires with this sidewall designation. 275/60, 295/65, 325/50 or 315/60 They need to do another radial tire class for more streetable type cars on drag radials |

You can beat this one to death, trust me it already has been. I told Nate, that personally I think he's going to be lucky to get an 8 car field with the rules and it being 1/4 mile. But who knows....maybe I'll be wrong. But, I myself just don't see that many cars showing up for this race |
