| That was a fast pass. But how do we know it was a 275/60 tire? |

Posted By dannysbee on 12/27/2007 8:37 PM Cause I said. http://www.bowmanmotorsports.com/ Well, you are comparing apples to oranges here. Yes, he went a 7 second pass. But that was with the turbo rules PSCA has and they are very generous rules on the turbos AND the n2o cars. They allow a 98 mm with water/ice inner cooler and have no limit on cubic inches for n2o cars OR the turbo cars. Basically this is the same thing as ORSCA's EZ Street class except PSCA runs a smaller tire and PSCA's Wild Street allows all rear suspensions. Those cars that run PSCA Wild Street are cars that have owners that have basically unlimited funds to support there racing program/habit. On the other hand, TTT5's True Street is, and always has been, designed to give the average working man with a street looking race car a place to race and be competitive without having to hawk the farm to do it. Again, what those PSCA racers are accomplishing is impressive but its apples to oranges. Thanks for posting it up as it is very interesting to see what others are doing on the 275/60 tire. Unc |

Unc I was not making a comparison of classes. Just that the Camaro is on stock suspension and made the pass on 275-60 M/T. If I field a car in T/S it will take me a while to build the car and I will have to make sacrifices to do it. I don't have deep pockets. There only a few places a regular guy can heads up race and T/S is it in our area. I was going to build a Factory appearing stock Tire car but all the races are up north. Now I just got to decide if the race car is going to be a 63 Plymouth, 70 Duster, or a 98 Firebird. I'm with you not against you |

Do the 70 Duster, always liked those cars. There used to be a guy in the mid to late 80s that had a brown one from west Fort Worth that ran pretty good for a street car back then. Can't remember his name though, maybe Kenny, that sounds familiar. |

Yes, that was his name, I think back then the car ran well into the 7's on juice 1/8 mile, I went to school with him, his brother worked for some auto supply shop in White Settlement and the car actually belonged to him. |

| I know its a dirty word but the Duster is actually my bracket car. Right now it has a 451 ci big block with Eddy heads and a flat tappet cam and a 950 Holley Hp it runs 6.40-6.50 at 105-106 with 1.38-1.40 60' at 3150 lbs on SS springs and a snubber. The car is probably too far modified to make a T/S car as it still has stock frame rails but none of the factory wheel well remains and the trunk hinges are gone and it has a pin on deck lid. If you have been around the block a few times you might remember my old Z28 Street car it was a 70 with a huffer on it, everyone called it the Zippin Zee previously owned by D Hickman. The Roadrunner that caused all the stur out at Mark IV when it out ran Ron Curly was also mine although not at that time. |
