I saw you guys on the 24th at the Motorplex it was badass, I'm only 16 but I've been wanting to race a car since the day I was born, and I'm attempting to get a Foxbody Mustang to run True Street. Could someone give me a ballpark on how much they think it would be to make a competitive true street car? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Whitt LeLux

Startin from scratch with a mustang I'd say 12000 with a chevy motor and 18000 with a ford motor if you want to competitive. Then add on 400 a month to test to learn the little tires.

Coming from someone that isnt much older than you, I would not worry about True Street at the moment. Get the car running and get some seat time while saving up money.....it takes alot of it to be competitive! You can still have just as much fun grudge racing for awhile and run true street a year or two after the car is running. Good luck!

Thanks for the estimate....I wasn't gonna try and run true street right off the bat, I was just looking for a ballpark price...

That figure is so open for interpretation... but it is probably close for a basic nitrous car. For those of us who choose the more extravagent setups like a turbocharger.. pfft.. It have more than 3 times that amount in my car.
(and I don't think it can run the numbers on the little tires and the legal turbo!)
