Hi guys,

Just wondering if the CFE "Storm" is legal for SBF. It's a yates style canted valve head.

Yates heads are not allowed. (Revised 8-21-2008 by committee vote)

Yea just saw that!

That is a pitty.... Ordered the heads 2 weeks ago. Was looking to race with you guys next year at some of the Kennedale races. Just out of curiousity why did you guys revise it on 8-21-08 and decide not to allow these heads even with the extra weight?

My bad, I was supposed to word it so it said Yates or Yates style heads are not allowed. I fixed it in the rules. Those Glidden Victor II heads are "Yates style " heads. We also don't, and have never allowed, SB2 or SB2 style heads. So that's one of the main reasons for the revision.

I don't know about that love thang. Riggins ran a 5.19 with his small block, a new class record.

Yes I saw that very impressive and great group of guys. I'm running in the low 30's now with more left in it, I'm just changing setup for next season "Ultimate Street" and would like to keep the car with in your rules as well. I sure wish you would let at least the Inline Victor II heads stay legal. I'm going to stay nitrous I don't have the time to learn the turbo curve setup as of now. I will be running Inline Glidden Victor II heads next season instead of my Wedge " R " heads. Sucks for me that you guys changed the rules, I was looking forward to running both classes next year. Thanks Unc for all your reply's I appreciate it. My Uncle lives in Kennedale and was wanting to race all of your Kennedale races. I understand there are rules and I respect your decision to change them. You guys have a good organization keep up the good work.

Thanks,
Chris Calhoun

My name is Stephen Barnett. I have been in the process of building my car to run Extreme Street for the last year and a half. I was a couple months away from running with yall. As I love the class and the group of people that run it. It is SBF Yates headed. My ? is and I mean this in the nicest way. Why are Yates heads and Yates style heads now banned. I could understand if a car with a SBF Yates heads was dominating the class. I keep up and im at most races and I havent even seen a car show up with them. I just really want to run with yall and have put alot of hard work and time in to my race program and cannot change at this time. I will take a weight penelty or what ever it takes to run if needed. Im not bitching just wanting to resolve this. I will call or meet with whoever is needed to make this happen. Thank you for your time

Hey UNC what about the Mopar W-8 head? My heads are inline 15* heads. I have a Duster with a 410 NOS Mopar motor. What would I have to weigh to come run with you guys if my heads are legal?

Can you tell us more about the front end on your car? I've been told that it has a full strut after market front end on it. If that is the case, then the car in itself doesn't fit the rules. Our rules state if the car didn't come with a strut front end then it is not legal.

As far as the previous post about the Yates heads, that's a dead issue, they are not legal just like the SB2 heads are not legal.

My car has a bolt in sqare tube frontend replacement. It is called an AlterKtion and is built byReilly motorsports. You can check it out at Bigblockdart.com and no it is not a strut frontend. 100% boltin stock location with coilovers.

Looks like a nice set-up and not a race only type looks like its street/strip to me. I don't have a problem with it and I would like to see a few more cars in the class. I don't make the rules I'm just putting in my two cents. I hope to see you at the races.

I guess I was misinformed about the struts. Thats looks okay to me. We are still researching the heads. I can't find much on the internet on them.

In the Extreme Street rules under "Heads", rule #4 states "Minimum valve angle for small blocks is 15 degrees."

We pretty much have the same head rules as NMCA's Xtreme Street class. With the exception we do allow a 15* head on small blocks and they don't. Those CFE heads are 10* heads.

What do you need to know about my heads? They are a 15* MOPAR head. You could buy them directly from any dealer or Dodge dealership in the country until they were replaced by the W-9 a few years back. Shadydell performance has alot of info about them on their website. If you have any further questions call me at 432-967-0191. Thanks Marty
